Review of the Movie Man Of Steel in 100 Words or Less

Obviously, you go into this movie with high expectations. It’s Superman, you have to. I left the movie feeling unimpressed and a little disappointed. It wasn’t a bad movie, but it wasn’t good either. There’s a ton of action as you would expect but it seemed like the action was trying to compensate for the lack of story and character development. Really, I just wished Christopher Nolan took on the directing rather than Zack Snyder.

The thing about the Superman story that is different than all the other superheros is that he was born Superman. Spiderman is really Peter Parker, Iron Man is really Tony Stark, and Batman is really Bruce Wayne. Superman is the opposite. He is Superman and he has to sort of unsuperhero himself to become Clark Kent. A lot of story development surrounding this idea is needed in order to feel any emotional connection to the character. It simply didn’t happen.
