Review of the Movie Life of Pi in 100 Words or Less

Everyone knows how visually breathtaking this film is and I am in full agreement - the cinematography & CGI is top notch. But, I personally believe that Life of Pi also succeeds on a deeper level with it’s captivating story about faith, loss, adventure and discovery. The film is meant to inspire you and keep the gears in your head turning for days on end. Having said that, the story will not appeal to everyone that takes the time to watch it. As you might imagine, it is filled with extensive metaphors and spiritual insight and that doesn’t jive with all audiences. I have to think that someone of this audience will recognize and be entertained by the visual spectacle it is, but leave feeling unsatisfied by a story that was long and boring.
